What is a spacer bolt - distance bolt?
Spacer bolts, also called distance bolts, are special fasteners designed to create a defined distance between two components or parts while simultaneously ensuring a stable connection. They typically consist of a hexagonal body with one or both ends that may feature an internal thread, an external thread or both. Usually, distance bolts are manufactured on rotary transfer machines using hexagonal coil material.
There is no industry standard (DIN) for distance bolts like there is for screws.
These spacers are frequently used in various applications, especially in the electronics, electrical engineering, automotive and mechanical engineering industries. Their main functions include:
- Maintaining distance: Distance bolts enable two components to be kept at a specific distance from each other. This allows, for example, circuit boards, assemblies or other parts to be securely positioned and insulated.

Our distance bolts are available in all common materials and finishes to ensure optimal adaptation to your needs. We offer both internal/internal and internal/external thread types in thread sizes M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M8 and wrench sizes SW 4 to SW 13. As a rule, our distance bolts are produced with a thread relief according to DIN 76-B. On request, manufacturing of distance bolts with cutting threads ST2.2, ST2.9, ST3.3, ST3.5, ST4.2, ST4.8, ST6.2 and UNC threads is possible.
Stainless steel spacer bolts 1.4305:
For applications in humid environments we offer rust-free stainless steel spacer bolts of grade 1.4305. These bolts are known for their durability and corrosion resistance and provide a reliable solution even under demanding conditions.
